Case Description
In Novokuznetsk, no later than March 2024, a criminal case was opened against a local 27-year-old resident, Vitaly Tymkiv. It is claimed that a machete was found during a search of his home. The man was accused of publicly disseminating "fakes" about the Russian army motivated by political or ideological hatred, and of publicly calling for terrorism and extremism. According to the security forces, in 2023 Vitaliy Tymkiv, while monitoring the Internet, left comments in which he criticized the Russian authorities and the president. Among other things, in his comments, he wrote: 'As long as Putin destroys the people, the people will not stop poisoning themselves out of despair. This is where all the evil lies. Regarding the Furgal case, he commented with the phrase: "The authorities imprisoned him, fearing for their reputation, they imprisoned him, and now the authorities are faggots, fucking cocksuckers, just Nazis, subhumans, Satanists, bastards." "Tymkiv also made negative comments about Russians: "Only Russians are stupid, I hate Russians, suggested: "I propose hanging officials on poles for studying in Europe and the USA with Russian money, let them study in Africa, and stated: "Our Nazi thieving terrorist authorities are to blame. In addition, he threatened: 'Okay, I'll go solve problems now, I'll kill all the officials with a machete.' Law enforcement officers found out that Vitaly Tymkiv had a machete at home. The court placed the defendant in a pre-trial detention center.
