Case Description
Victor Nikitin, a 35-year-old resident of Khabarovsk, was detained by the FSB on April 28, 2024. He was accused of cooperating on a confidential basis with a foreign state, international or foreign organization to the detriment of Russia. According to law enforcement officers, the man, speaking out against the political decision of the country's leadership to conduct the SVO, wishing to switch to the enemy's side, proactively established confidential cooperation relations through the Internet with representatives of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to carry out activities aimed against the security of the Russian Federation, , Nikitin was placed in a pre-trial detention center. June 2024, the defendant in the case was sent for inpatient psychiatric examination. 6 June 2025, Khabarovsk Regional Court found Viktor Nikitin guilty and sentenced him to 5 years in a general regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
