Case Description
On August 21, 2024, a search was conducted in Moscow at the activist, duty officer of the "Nemtsov Bridge" memorial, Viktor Levakov. He was accused of financing extremism. The reason for the criminal prosecution was three transfers from FBK totaling approximately 3.5 thousand. rubles, made in September-October 2021. After the search, Kotov was taken for questioning at the Investigative Committee, after which he was placed in a temporary detention center until a measure of restraint was chosen. On August 22, 2024, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow placed the activist under house arrest. February 25, 2025, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow found Viktor Levakov guilty and sentenced him to 3.5 years in a general regime colony. The man was taken into custody in the courtroom. August 4, 2025, the Moscow City Court left the verdict unchanged.
