Case Description
In the city of Shakhty, Rostov region, no later than October 2024, a criminal case was opened against 33-year-old local resident Viktor Kucherov on charges of attempted state treason and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization. According to the investigation, the Shakhtin resident allegedly maintained contacts through Telegram with a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, who was involved in recruiting Russians for their further transition to the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On his orders, he prepared to cross the state border to participate in a terrorist organization. The court chose a measure of restraint for the Shakhty resident in the form of detention.
