Case Description
The Southern District Military Court received for consideration a case of espionage against 71-year-old Ukrainian citizen Viktor Demchenko. Participation in a terrorist community and illegal possession of weapons or ammunition is also charged against him. The details of the case and the date of detention are unknown. December 31, 2023, Demchenko died in the Rostov prison hospital from a stroke. On January 25, 2024, the Southern Military District Court issued a ruling to close the case against Viktor Demchenko due to the death of the defendant.
