Case Description
In Stavropol Krai, local resident Viktor Bachinin was detained no later than March 2022. The exact date and circumstances of the detention are unknown. In May and June 2023, Bacenin allegedly attempted two more transfers, but they were unsuccessful - in one case the bank rejected the transfer, in another the crypto exchange. Later, he joined the Right Sector, recognized in Russia as an extremist organization. According to the court's report, he also persuaded another person to participate in the activities of the 'Right Sector'. According to reports, in March 2022 Bachinin studied instructions for assembling an improvised explosive device and acquired components. He began making IEDs, but did not complete what he started because he was detained. A criminal case was opened against the man for possession of explosives, participation in the activities of an extremist organization, incitement to participate in such an organization, attempted manufacture of explosives, and preparation for a terrorist act. On July 26, 2023, the Southern Military District Court sentenced Viktor Bachinin to 10 years in prison. He will spend the first three years in prison, the remaining term - in a strict regime correctional colony. He was also fined 210 thousand rubles.
