Case Description
On June 5, 2024, in Nakhodka, Vasily Gorelikov, a volunteer from Boris Nadezhdin's campaign headquarters, was visited for a search early in the morning. During the search, letters to political prisoners were seized from him, and then he was taken to Vladivostok and placed in a temporary detention center for two days until a measure of restraint was chosen." He was not allowed to see his attorney of record. A criminal case was initiated against Gorelikov for calls to extremism. The reason for the criminal prosecution was comments in 2022 on VKontakte." "According to the investigation, the young man 'called on subscribers of one of the publics to humiliate and rape supporters of Russian President Vladimir Putin'. On June 7, 2024, the court appointed Gorelikov a measure of restraint - the court prohibited him from calling and using the Internet. On November 6, 2024, the Nakhodka City Court of Primorsky Krai found Vasily Gorelikov guilty and sentenced him to one year of probation. The court also banned him from administering websites and channels on the Internet for a year and a half." The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
