Case Description
February 25, 2022 Vasily Devyatov wrote on a stop sign "No to war. Fascism is Russia. Putin is a murderer. Two passersby knocked Devyatov to the ground and held him until the police arrived. The court found Devyatov guilty of vandalism motivated by political, ideological, racial, national, or religious hatred or enmity. Two examinations conducted at the Belgorod expert-criminalistic center did not find a criminal offense in the inscription. The third examination, conducted at another center, confirmed Devyatov's guilt, and the court considered only it. On November 11, 2022, Vasily Devyatov was sentenced to two years of restriction of liberty
