Case Description
In St. Petersburg, no later than October 2024, a criminal case was opened for calls for terrorism against 34-year-old local resident Varvara Lehmann. According to the investigation, Lehmann posted a video of a "terrorist nature" in the public group "Satire without Positivity" on Telegram. Appeals to overthrow the authorities in the Russian Federation and shootings were allegedly heard in the video posted by Lehmann: "Soldiers and officers of Russia... (omitted) free Russia from Putin" - sounded in the voice-over text. On January 23, 2025, the 1st Western Military District Court found Varvara Lehmann guilty and sentenced her to three years in a general regime penal colony. The woman was taken into custody in the courtroom. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
