Case Description
On August 21, 2025, a criminal case was opened in Moscow against 17-year-old Tajik citizen Valijon Aboilov. On the same day he was detained. A teenager was accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization, as well as justifying and promoting terrorism. According to the investigation, Aboylov, while in Moscow, supported the ideas of the "Islamic State. He corresponded with a representative of the organization and sent him a video recording of his oath of allegiance. After that, he bought a plane ticket to Istanbul, planning to leave for Afghanistan through Turkey to participate in hostilities, but was detained two days before departure." "Also, he allegedly published six videos on a social network justifying terrorism. August 22, 2025, the Ostankino District Court of Moscow chose a measure of restraint for the defendant in the form of detention. Valijon Aboilov was found guilty by the 2nd Western Military District Court on January 14, 2026, and sentenced to 5.5 years of imprisonment in a corrective colony. Also, he was prohibited from administering websites on the Internet for 3 years.
