Case Description
In August 2025, 19-year-old Valeria Latkina was detained in Syktyvkar." She was accused of attempted terrorist attack and is suspected of attempted sabotage. According to the investigation, in August 2025 Latkina set fire to a service vehicle near the building of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Syktyvkar. In addition, in the summer of the same year, acting in collusion with other persons, she came to the territory of the railway tracks with the intention of setting fire to a diesel locomotive, but was unable to carry out the plan because it had left. Latkina acted under the influence of telephone scammers who deceived her into transferring more than two million rubles to them, and then, threatening her, forced her to commit these actions. The Syktyvkar City Court chose a measure of restraint for the defendant in the form of detention.
