Case Description
In Perm in July 2024, the Investigative Department of the Dzerzhinsky District of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Perm initiated a criminal case on "repeated discrediting" of the Russian army against 46-year-old activist Valery Mankevich. At the address of his registration, where his mother lives, security forces conducted a search and seized all the equipment. It is unknown what became the reason for the criminal prosecution. Earlier, in October 2023, the Leninsky District Court of Perm held an activist accountable in a case of an administrative offense under the article on discrediting the army due to an anti-war picket with a poster "# Glory to Ukraine!" # No to war! # Fuck the war!» Mankevich left Russia. In July 2024, he was put on the wanted list.
