Case Description
A resident of Donetsk, Ukrainian Valentina Tagirova, the day after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, on February 25, 2022, was able to leave for Samara, where she lived in a "temporary accommodation center" and even managed to get a job. Around this same time, Valentina began receiving messages from an anonymous person on Telegram. He threatened her loved ones and demanded that she buy items necessary for arson. Valentina thought that if she followed the instructions, everything would be fine. After that, she was detained by FSB officers and accused of preparing a terrorist attack. According to the investigation, in February 2023, Platon contacted Tagirova, who, under threat, forced her to take and send him photos of significant objects in Samara, as well as buy ingredients for an incendiary mixture. Tagirova was supposed to leave components for a flammable mixture on the eve of the anti-fascist festival "Guitar in Formation. Lawyers found media publications showing that information about the event in May 2023 became known no earlier than April 17, 2023." Platon, however, persuaded Tagirova to procure consumer goods for the manufacture of explosives back in March. The defense claims that before the publications in the media about the upcoming festival, no one could have known except the organizers, and that Platon could have been an FSB provocateur. On April 20, 2023, the Samara District Court of Samara took the woman into custody. She was placed in a local colony, in the PFRSI. The arrested woman spent the first six months in solitary confinement, and in the fall she was moved to a common cell. June 3, 2025, the Central Military District Court found Valentina Tagirova guilty and sentenced her to 8 years in prison and 1 year of restriction of freedom.
