Bushuev Valentin Vladimirovich

In April 2024, a search was conducted in Moscow of a 61-year-old local resident, a well-known Soviet oppositionist, anti-communist, and radio amateur Valentin Bushev. A criminal case was opened against him on charges of inciting hatred or enmity with the use of violence or with the threat of its use and insulting the feelings of believers. Audio recording, in which a man uses obscene language and insults Muslims on religious grounds, became the reason for criminal prosecution. According to the prosecution's version, on June 1, 2023, Bushuev, using the call sign rv3anu, went on the radio with the aim of offending the feelings of believers and uttered words that were recorded and posted on YouTube by another radio amateur. President of the Russian Union of Radio Amateurs handed over this record to the FSB in September 2023. For the duration of the investigation, the radio amateur was placed under a written undertaking not to leave. On August 18, 2025, the Preobrazhensky District Court of Moscow found Valentin Bushev guilty and sentenced him to 3 years in a general regime colony. The man was taken into custody in the courtroom.
