Case Description
In the Republic of Buryatia, a criminal case was opened for treason and committing sabotage against local resident V.A." Kashina. The exact date of detention is unknown. According to the investigation, the man, acting on the instructions of a representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, persuaded Russian servicemen participating in the special military operation to voluntarily surrender to the enemy—the Ukrainian side. On April 22, 2024, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Buryatia found V. Kashin guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in a strict regime colony and 1 year of restriction of freedom. On January 10, 2025, the Fifth Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction upheld the sentence.
