Case Description
In Moscow, on November 7, 2024, the Ostankinsky Interdistrict Investigative Department of the Investigating Committee initiated a criminal case on public calls to terrorism against a 20-year-old citizen of Kyrgyzstan, Abdinasir uulu Bekzat. The next day, November 8, he was detained and interrogated. On the same day, the Ostankinsky District Court of Moscow chose detention as a measure of restraint for the man.
The grounds for criminal prosecution were a comment left by Abdinasir in the spring of 2024 under a post on the Telegram channel 'Migrants.Ru', which discussed the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall: 'Guys, for such a movement you need a huge spirit, too bad they were caught.' This comment, according to the investigation, indicated support for violent methods and extremist ideology. The investigation insisted that Abdinasir 'shared aggressive forms of Islam and the idea of violent influence on state institutions'.
On February 19, 2025, the 2nd Western District Military Court found Bekzat Abdinasir uulu guilty and sentenced him to 3 years of imprisonment and a 2-year ban on administering internet resources, and also ordered the confiscation of the mobile phone from which the comment was written.
The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
