Case Description
In early April 2025, Timur Magomedov, a 32-year-old local resident, was detained in Moscow. He was accused of financing extremism. The details of the charges are unknown. Presumably, the reason for the criminal prosecution was donations to Alexei Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation. On April 2, 2025, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow placed Magomedov in custody at the request of the investigation. On September 3, 2025, the Butyrsky District Court found Timur Magomedov guilty and sentenced him to 3.5 years in a general regime penal colony.
