Case Description
In Syktyvkar, no later than July 2025, 20-year-old student Timofey Sukharev was detained. He was accused of sabotage committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy and resulting in significant damage to an object of the fuel and energy complex. According to the investigation, in June 2025, Sukharev entered into a conspiracy with an unidentified person. Pretending to be an FSB officer in the Telegram messenger, this person convinced a student to commit a sabotage act under threat of disclosing his personal data from the public services portal. Sukharev broke into the territory of an electrical substation in the village of Vylgort and drained oil from the transformers. This led to an emergency power outage in the village for about 1.5 hours and caused damage amounting to more than 1.1 million rubles. The defendant in the case was placed in the SIZO. On December 4, 2025, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Komi found Timofey Sukharev guilty and sentenced him to 12 years in prison, the first 2 years to be served in prison, and the remaining term in a strict regime colony. In the occupied part of the Luhansk region, a criminal case was opened against Ukrainian citizen Artem Onoprienko.
