Case Description

In May 2023, former military psychologist Timofey Rudenko was detained at Zhukovsky Airport, from where he was going to fly to Kyrgyzstan. During his detention, men in masks without identification marks used a stun gun on him, placed his head under the wheels of a car, and offered him to "redeem his guilt before the homeland" by joining the "Wagner PMC. After that, various courts in Moscow and Moscow Region five times in a row imposed administrative arrests on Rudenko under the article on petty hooliganism. Identical rulings stated that the former military man swore in the street and harassed passersby: on May 19, the Ostankino District Court of Moscow arrested Rudenko for 15 days under a protocol for petty hooliganism. The security forces considered that he was swearing and harassing passers-by at night on Prospekt Mira. On June 2, at the exit from the temporary detention center, the Muscovite was detained again and arrested for 10 days on a similar charge. On June 12, when the second arrest term was ending, Rudenko was not released again. He told his relatives that from the Sakharovo detention center he was taken to the Moscow suburbs of Khimki, where the city court sentenced him to another 13 days of arrest under a similar protocol. On June 26, when Rudenko was supposed to be released from the temporary detention facility in Istra, he was detained again, and after some time, the Solntsevsky District Court of Moscow for the fourth time sent Rudenko under administrative arrest for 15 days under the article on petty hooliganism. On July 11, after serving administrative arrest, Rudenko was detained again, after which the Ostankinsky District Court of Moscow again arrested Rudenko for 15 days under the article on petty hooliganism. On July 21, 2023, the Perovsky District Court of Moscow arrested Timofey Rudenko in a case of calls for terrorism. According to the investigation, from April 29 to May 1, 2022, Rudenko, under the name 'Maymul Maymulovich,' wrote in the Telegram channel 'Crimea - the Land of Partisan Glory' comments 'justifying the actions of participants in illegal armed formations, supporters of [Dzhokhar] Dudayev, who operated in the Chechen Republic and fought in Ukraine against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.' 3. The user "Maymul Maymulovich, under whose name the former military personnel, as the Investigative Committee believes, registered on Telegram, also "called for the commission of terrorist acts, sabotage, and terrorist attacks aimed against state authorities in the Russian Federation." On February 6, 2024, the 2nd Western Military District Court appointed compulsory treatment for Timofey Rudenko by a psychiatrist in a specialized inpatient facility. The court's decision was not appealed and entered into legal force. On February 11, 2025, the court issued an order to transfer Rudenko to a general type inpatient facility.
