Case Description
In Ingushetia, criminal cases were opened against a representative of the "Ingush Independence Committee" Ahmad Ozdo under articles on organizing terrorist activities, organizing an illegal armed formation, and an extremist community. According to the investigation, in April 2015, 60-year-old Temirlan Gudiev, a native of the village of Muzhichi, left for Ukraine, from where he went to Turkey, and then to Syria. There he allegedly joined an illegal armed formation, structurally part of the "Jabhat al-Nusra" (a branch of the international Islamist terrorist organization "Al-Qaeda" in the territory of Syria and Lebanon). According to law enforcement officers, Ozdo participated in hostilities against the government forces of Syria. The "Ingush Independence Committee" appeared in early January 2023. Its participants declare their goal to be the restoration of the sovereignty of the Ingush Republic and preparation for exit from the Russian Federation.
