Case Description
In Petrozavodsk in September 2022, a criminal case was opened against a 77-year-old local resident, a veteran of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a native of Ukraine, Tatyana Savinkina, on the repeated "discrediting" of the Russian army. A search was conducted in her home, after which Savinkina was taken for questioning at the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Karelia, and then released under house arrest. According to law enforcement, in 2022, the pensioner pasted leaflets with the text "Putin, get out of Ukraine" at the entrance to the entrance and in the freight elevator of her house. It is reported that her neighbor informed on the former Interior Ministry employee. Earlier, in June and September 2022, Savinkina was fined three times under a case of an administrative offense under the article on discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. On October 6 of the same year, another criminal case was opened against Svinina for repeated "discrediting of the army." The reason for the new criminal prosecution was again leaflets that the woman pasted on September 24 in the elevator of one, in which she wrote about the number of "young guys" who "returned to Russia in coffins. In addition, the woman wrote that she was ashamed of what was happening, and that a huge number of children and elderly people had died in Ukraine. On December 4, 2024, the Petrozavodsk City Court of the Republic of Karelia found Tatyana Savinkina guilty and fined her 200 thousand. rubles. At the same time, the court released Savinkina from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for bringing him to responsibility.
