Case Description
On September 25, 2024, at Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow, 48-year-old citizen of Ukraine and Russia Tatiana Omelychenko was detained. Ekaterina was flying from Minsk to Moscow in order to fly from there to Simferopol, where she lived until 2014. She was going to bury her younger brother. The woman was accused of treason. According to the Russian investigation, Tatiana, living in Kyiv, made donations for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On November 26, 2024, Judge Varvara Oganova of the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow chose a measure of restraint for Omelychenko in the form of detention. On October 1, 2025, the Moscow Regional Court found Tatiana Omelychenko guilty and sentenced her to 12 years in a general regime penal colony. The court also imposed a fine of 400 thousand on her. rubles. December 22, 2025, the First Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the sentence unchanged.
