Case Description
On August 5, 2025, Svetlana Nazarova, a 44-year-old local resident, was detained in Vologda. She was accused of publicly justifying terrorism on the internet. According to the investigation, on March 15, 2025, Nazarova, dissatisfied with the current authorities and the "special military operation, published a comment in the Telegram channel "Siberian Battalion": "Guys, you are the best, not some Putin's lickspittles and other scum." Prosecution believes that her words contain "a positive assessment of groups associated with violence and the use of weapons" and "approval of the activities of terrorist organizations." On August 6, 2025, Svetlana Nazarova was placed in a pre-trial detention center. On December 1, 2025, Judge Dmitry Kislov of the 1st Western Military District Court found Svetlana Nazarova guilty and sentenced her to 2 years in a general regime colony."
