Nordin Sven Karlovich

In Kaliningrad in August 2022, local resident Sven Nordin was detained. He was accused of rehabilitating Nazism. According to the investigation, on his VKontakte page, the man posted an article in which Soviet Colonel Nikita Karatsupa of the Great Patriotic War was compared to serial killer Andrei Chikatilo. The indictment also states that Nordin is "an adherent of the ideas of German Nazism of Adolf Hitler" and published this material, wishing to arouse hatred and enmity towards the veteran, as well as to humiliate his honor and dignity. For the duration of the investigation, the defendant was placed under a measure of restriction in the form of a ban on certain actions. On June 7, 2024, the Kaliningrad Regional Court found Sven Nordin guilty and sentenced him to 2 years in prison to be served in a general regime correctional colony. As an additional punishment, the court deprived Nordin of the right to engage in activities related to placing information on the Internet for a period of three years. The man was taken into custody in the courtroom. On November 20, 2024, the First Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the verdict in force.
