For participating in the armed conflict, Hubbard received a monetary reward of $1000 per month. On October 7, 2022, the Moscow City Court found James Hubbard guilty and sentenced him to imprisonment for a term of 6 years and 10 months to be served in a general regime correctional colony, with the confiscation in favor of the state of monetary funds belonging to Hubbard in the amount of 142,300 Ukrainian hryvnias."
