Case Description
In November 2023, a criminal case was opened against Yekaterinburg artist and founder of the Uralnash internet portal Stanislav Shmygke for repeated discrediting of the use of the Russian army. What exactly served as the reason for initiating the case is unknown. It is also unknown whether a preventive measure has been chosen for Shminke. Shminke himself left Russia with his family in the spring of 2022 and now lives in the USA. Earlier, Stanislav Shminke, as an official - the director of the publication "Uralnash" - was fined 100 thousand rubles under an administrative article on discrediting the army. Also on the same day, the legal entity LLC "Intellectual Business Solutions, headed by Shminke, was fined 300 thousand [rubles] — the website "Uralnash" is registered to this legal entity. Both decisions were handed down by Vladimir Ushakov, a judge of the Lenin District Court of Yekaterinburg, based on protocols drawn up by the police following reports from Andrey Alshevskikh, a member of the State Duma from United Russia. In May 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs put Shminke on the wanted list.
