The Novoaltaysky City Court of the Altai Territory placed the defendant in a pre-trial detention center. Previously, in April 2016, it was reported that Kim, being the mayor of Horlivka under the control of the DNR, recorded a video message in which he stated that he did not recognize either Russian, Ukrainian, or separatist authorities, and only obeyed the 'President of the USSR' Sergey Tarasov. Kim stated that he "orders" all ATO troops to raise the red banner over their units and begin restoring the Ukrainian USSR, as well as establishing legality in accordance with the USSR Constitution of 1977. In the event that the troops refuse to obey him, he promised to shoot "traitors to the Motherland, as Igor Girkin (Strelkov) once did in the DNR. On December 5, 2025, the 2nd Eastern Military District Court found Stanislav Kim guilty and sentenced him to imprisonment, the length of the sentence is unknown.
