Ilchuk Stanislav Aleksandrovich

Stanislav Ilchuk, a 22-year-old local resident, was detained in Volgograd no later than June 2024. He was accused of treason and sabotage. According to the investigation, from the end of May to 17 June 2024, Ilchuk, being dissatisfied with 'the political course of the Russian Federation and the special military operation carried out by the Armed Forces of Russia', entered into correspondence with a representative of the Ukrainian special services and proactively, for monetary remuneration, offered to provide assistance in activities aimed against the security of the Russian Federation. It is claimed that Ilchuk received an assignment from a 'curator' to set fire to a stationary rail lubricator track cabinet, used a crowbar to open the metal box, doused its contents with kerosene, and set it on fire. Ilyuk recorded the fire on his mobile phone, and sent the video recording to the 'curator' as a report on the completed assignment. Thus, according to the charges, Ilchuk allegedly attempted to "create an emergency situation and cause damage to the economy and defense capability of the Russian Federation during the implementation of military transportation and transportation of dangerous goods." For the duration of the investigation, the defendant was placed in a pre-trial detention center. On April 2, 2025, the Volgograd Regional Court found Stanislav Ilchuk guilty and sentenced him to 14 years imprisonment in a strict regime penal colony, 2 years in prison, followed by 1 year of restricted freedom. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
