Case Description
In Barnaul, no later than March 2023, the FSB detained a 20-year-old student, a citizen of Tajikistan from Tajikistan, Shodmon Ashurov." He was accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization, publicly justifying and propagating terrorism, as well as involving another person in terrorist activities. According to the investigation, since the beginning of 2023, Ashurov justified and propagandized the activities of an international terrorist organization banned in Russia. In conversations, he stated the correctness of the ideology and practice of terrorism, the expediency of violence against "infidels, persuaded interlocutors to join the ranks of the terrorist organization, and spoke about his personal readiness to kill. The defendant in the case was placed in the SIZO. On April 17, 2024, the 1st Eastern District Military Court found Shodmon Ashurov guilty and sentenced him to 14 years in prison, the first 3 years he must serve in prison, and the remaining term in a strict regime colony. 28 October 2024, the Military Appellate Court left the sentence unchanged.
