Case Description
In Oryol on February 9, 2024, a criminal case was opened for "fakes" about the Russian army on the grounds of political hatred against local resident Sergey Temyashov, 27. According to security forces, in July 2023, Temyashov posted video materials and comments containing "deliberately false information about the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine during the special military operation" in a local community on a social network. The details of the charges are unknown. On March 15, 2024, the Zavodskoy District Court of Oryol chose house arrest as a measure of restraint for Temyashova. On November 14, 2024, Judge Pavel Shkodnik of the Zavodsky District Court of Orel found Sergey Temyashov guilty and sentenced him to 5 years in prison to be served in a general regime correctional institution. The man was taken into custody in the courtroom. On February 4, 2025, the Oryol Regional Court left the verdict unchanged.
