Case Description
In Stavropol in June 2025, a search was conducted at the home of 72-year-old local resident and pensioner Sergey Senchuk. He was accused of financing extremist activities. According to the investigation, from August 6, 2021 to February 23, 2022, Senchuk, while in Stavropol, transferred 900 rubles to provide for the activities of Alexei Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation, which was recognized as an extremist organization. At the time of the investigation, the defendants in the case were placed under a written undertaking not to leave and to behave properly. On October 7, 2025, the Promyshlenny District Court of Stavropol found Sergey Senchuk guilty and sentenced him to 3 years of imprisonment conditionally with a probationary period of 2 years. On December 17, 2025, the Judicial Collegium for Criminal Cases of the Stavropol Regional Court changed the verdict: it ordered to confiscate Senchuk's mobile phone and monetary funds in the amount of 900 rubles. The court left the sentence unchanged in the rest of the case.
