Case Description
On June 8, 2025, two Ukrainian citizens were detained in Moscow: 47-year-old Rostislav Sasovets and his 22-year-old son Sergey. They were taken to the Nikulinsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow, where identical protocols of an administrative offense were drawn up against them under the article on petty hooliganism. According to police reports, the men, being in a public place at 2 a.m., behaved provocatively, swore, waved their arms and did not respond to remarks from police officers. 9 June 2025, Judge Mikhail Maksimov of the Nikulinsky District Court of Moscow sent a father and son to administrative arrest for 15 days. Ukrainians were detained again on June 21, 2025, and taken to the OVD of Russia for the Zyuzinsky district of Moscow. They were again accused of committing petty hooliganism. According to the police version, the father and son, at 6 a.m. on that day, during a document check, began swearing, and did not respond to the police officers' demands to stop their hooligan actions. On June 23, 2025, Judge Svetlana Bobyleva of the Zyuzinsky District Court of Moscow arrested men for another 15 days. On July 7, 2025, Sasovtsov was detained and taken to Zvenigorod in the Moscow region. They fabricated a third protocol on an administrative offense against them under the article on petty hooliganism. On July 8, 2025, Judge Yulia Goncharova of the Odintsovo City Court of the Moscow Region arrested a father and son for 14 days. July 22, 2025, Oksana Dukhovskaya, a judge of the Odintsovo City Court of the Moscow Region, arrested Sergei for another 15 days under the article on petty hooliganism - he allegedly swore in a public place. Two days later, on July 24, the same judge arrested Rostislav for 15 days on an identical charge. After serving his administrative arrest, Sasovtsov was detained on criminal charges: Rostislav was accused of espionage, and his son of treason. The details of the charges are unknown. On August 9, 2025, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow, at the request of the investigation, chose a measure of restraint for them in the form of detention.
