Case Description
On January 19, 2025, Sergey Sakharov, a 22-year-old resident of St. Petersburg, was detained in St. Petersburg. He was accused of committing sabotage. According to the investigation, on the eve of January 18, 2025, at 6:46 a.m., while at the 1st siding of the 9 km 18 dead-end railway track of the Ruch'i railway station, Sakharov, out of hooligan motives, set fire to a diesel locomotive, causing property damage to JSC Russian Railways in the amount of at least 12 million rubles, after which he fled. On January 20, 2025, the Krasnogvardeysky District Court of St. Petersburg placed Sakharov in custody.
