Case Description
In Bryansk, no later than April 2024, a criminal case was initiated against 68-year-old former lawyer and military pensioner Sergey Maslov. He was accused of libel and rehabilitation of Nazism on the internet. According to the investigation, in April 2024, Sergei Maslov disseminated knowingly false information on the network that defamed the honor and dignity of the governor of the Bryansk region, as well as humiliated the honor and dignity of veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Initially, the investigation chose Maslova's measure of restraint in the form of a written undertaking not to leave and to behave properly. On April 18, the Sovetsky District Court of Bryansk, at the request of the investigator, changed the measure of restraint to detention. The reason was that the man allegedly violated the conditions of his undertaking not to leave twice." On October 8, 2025, the jury of the Bryansk Regional Court acquitted Sergey Maslov. He was released from custody in the courtroom.
