Case Description
In Moscow, in April 2024, a criminal case was initiated for "fakes" about the Russian army against 28-year-old biology teacher Sergey Lopatin." "The reason for the criminal prosecution was a post from two years ago on VKontakte. 4 April 2022 Lopatin wrote a large post about the crimes in Bucha: . ..But Bucha is today. Corpses of men, women and children: with bound hands, in ditches and on roads - today. And my compatriots did this with the connivance, if not by the direct order of the leadership of my country. But it's not only scary to watch endless videos, scroll through photos - it's scary to find the strength within yourself to acknowledge that most of these atrocities were committed not by psychopaths, not by pathological rapists. When the war ends, and the surviving soldiers return home, in many of them we will recognize our classmates, long-forgotten friends, fellow travelers, students. And we won't be able to believe that they, so wonderful, so familiar, could have done all this. But they could. There are photographs, videos, eyewitness accounts. There are corpses: left in the yards of houses and dumped in the sewer, untouched and robbed, burned corpses of women with their clothes removed... In the publication, law enforcement officers saw military "fakes" motivated by political hatred towards representatives of the highest authorities. Sergey himself is abroad.
