Case Description
In annexed Sevastopol in April 2024, residents of Kerch were detained - 24-year-old Sergey Kozlov and 26-year-old Evgenia Samoylova. They were accused of treason, terrorism, undergoing training to carry out terrorist activities, as well as preparing for the illegal circulation of explosive devices. According to the investigation, in September 2023 Kozlov established contact with a representative of Ukrainian special services (GUR MO) and recruited his partner Samoylova to cooperate. He learned to make homemade explosive devices and Molotov cocktails. In October 2023, in Kerch, Kozlov set fire to a car with 'Z' or 'V' stickers, causing damage exceeding 860 thousand rubles. Later, according to the investigation, the man received an assignment to blow up railway tracks in Crimea and kill a military serviceman in Sevastopol. They were unable to carry out these terrorist attacks, as they were detained in Sevastopol allegedly while attempting to retrieve components from a cache for assembling two homemade explosive devices. The defendants in the case were placed in a pre-trial detention center.
