Karmazin Sergey Nikolaevich (Karmazin Sergiy Mikolayovich)

In mid-February 2023, Sergei Karmazin, a 45-year-old native of Kharkiv region, a citizen of Ukraine, was detained in Moscow. According to the security forces, the man was an SBU agent, he was recruited in Poland, he arrived in Russia through Latvia under the guise of a refugee in the fall of 2022. It is also claimed that the detained individual is involved in sabotage at Moscow Railway facilities: Karmazin allegedly set fire to two signal, centralization, and automatic blocking cabinets. According to the investigation, the Ukrainian set fire to the control and distribution device of the company "Rosseti Moscow Region - Yuzhnye Electric Networks" on the stretch between Kutuzovskaya and Vesennaya stations of the Kursk direction." Initially, Karmazina was accused of committing sabotage, but later the charges were expanded to include "espionage, training for sabotage activities, preparing to manufacture explosives, facilitating sabotage activities, participating in a terrorist community, preparing a terrorist act, and "training for terrorist activities." On March 28, 2024, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Sergey Karmazin guilty and sentenced him to 25 years in prison. The first six years of Karmazin's sentence will be served in prison, and the remainder of the term in a strict regime colony. The court also fined the Ukrainian 700 thousand rubles as an additional punishment. On July 30, 2024, the Appellate Military Court left the verdict unchanged.
