Grebennikov Sergey Vladimirovich

On January 24, 2025, a search was conducted at the home of Sergey Grebennikov, director of the Russian Association of Electronic Communications and organizer of the Runet Prize, in Moscow. The search was conducted as part of a criminal case under the article on illegal production, sale or sending of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues in a significant amount - it is alleged that 2.22 grams of mephedrone were found at Grebennikov's house. 25 January 2025, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow placed a Moscow resident in custody at the request of the investigation. Russian national Grebennikov was sentenced by the Tverskoy Court of Moscow in late May 2025 to 7 years in a strict regime penal colony on drug trafficking charges. In July of the same year, a second criminal case was opened against Grebennikov - he was accused of treason. It is reported that the case may have been initiated as a result of a search conducted as part of a drug case: at that time, Sergey's equipment was seized, including some correspondence. The details of the charges are unknown. On July 10, 2025, the Lefortovo Court of Moscow granted the prosecution's motion to detain the entrepreneur in custody on charges of state treason.
