Case Description
In the occupied part of the Luhansk region, a criminal case of espionage was opened against a local resident, Ukrainian citizen Sergey Goncharov. The date of his detention is unknown. According to the investigation, in June 2023, Goncharov voluntarily collected information about the deployment of Russian military personnel on the territory of the "Luhansk People's Republic" and transmitted this information to Ukrainian special services through an internet messenger. The man was placed under arrest. On November 19, 2025, the Supreme Court of the Lugansk People's Republic found Sergey Goncharov guilty and sentenced him to 14 years of imprisonment to be served in a strict regime correctional colony.
