In Novomoskovsk, Tula region, at the end of March 2023, the special purpose unit "Grom" of the UCON of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Tula region stormed the apartment of 61-year-old local resident Sergey Buyvol. In response to the storming, Buivol took a bottle containing gasoline or kerosene, sprayed its contents through the gap formed between the wall and the door frame, and doused the special forces officers with burning liquid, after which he went to the kitchen, where the special forces officers burst in and shot him. An elderly man was taken away by ambulance. Two weeks later, on April 13, the Novomoskovsky District Court of the Tula Region sent Sergey Buyvol to a pre-trial detention center. He was accused of repeated "discrediting of the army, use of violence against representatives of authorities in connection with the performance of their official duties, dangerous to life and health, and threats of violence. According to the investigation, Sergei Buyvol on August 9, September 26, 2022, and January 9, 2023, posted for public access on the wall of a page in the social network 'Odnoklassniki' records in the form of text and graphic publications containing linguistic and psychological signs of persuading the addressee of the negative nature of the goals of using the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as the negative nature of the goals of the state bodies of the Russian Federation in exercising their powers." Previously, in May 2022, Buyvola was fined in a case of an administrative offense under the article on discrediting the Russian army. The reason was his posts on "Odnoklassniki. Also, according to the version of the security forces, Sergey Buyvol used violence against representatives of the authorities - employees of the OSN "Grom" UCON of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Tula Region, in connection with the performance of their official duties: on March 30, 2023, during the period from 7:00 to 9:14, during the conduct of a special operation to provide force support during a search at the place of residence of Buyvol S.P., using a bottle with a flammable liquid, sprayed burning liquid on the aforementioned employees, subjecting them to the effects of flame, causing them physical pain, creating a real danger to their life and health, as well as threatening to use such violence, attempting to set fire to the burners of a gas stove with a lighter, threatening murder, armed with a knife. Boyvol himself denies the accusation of threatening murder and attacking with a knife and gas. As a result of the actions of the security forces, Buivol became bedridden." On July 17, 2023, the Novomoskovsky District Court of the Tula Region found Sergey Buyvol guilty and sentenced him to 3 years 6 months in a general regime colony and deprivation of the right to administer websites for 2 years. September 25, 2023, the Tula Regional Court upheld the sentence. On January 11, 2026, Buivol was supposed to be released from the colony, but an inspection was conducted in the IK, during which it was discovered that he would be released not in January, but in July of this year. The reason for the 7-month extension is unknown.
