Case Description
On December 13, 2022, in Moscow, aviation engineer Sergei Bezrukov was detained. A man was accused of 'justifying terrorism' for anti-war posts on 'LiveJournal' and X (Twitter). According to law enforcement, Sergey called for surrendering to Russian soldiers, donating to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and spoke out sharply against Ramzan Kadyrov. Bezrukov himself disputes the authenticity of the account. On December 15, the Preobrazhensky District Court of Moscow sent Sergey to a pre-trial detention center. On February 15, 2024, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Sergey Bezrukov guilty and sentenced him to 6 years in a general regime penal colony, as well as banned him from administering websites on the internet for 4 years." August 1, 2024, the Appellate Military Court upheld the sentence.
