Case Description
In the annexed Republic of Crimea on February 5, 2025, five local residents were detained - Emir Kurtnezirov, Abibulla Smedlyayev, Rustem Mustafaev, Mirzali Tazhibayev, and Bakhtiyar Ablayev. On the same day, searches were conducted at their homes, as well as at the home of Crimean Tatar activist Seitnebi Ramazanov. Law enforcement officers found and seized propaganda materials, means of communication, and electronic storage media at their places of residence. The Crimean was accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization and preparing for a violent seizure of power. According to the FSB's version, the detainees were members of a clandestine cell of Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami and recruited supporters. After the searches, the defendants in the case were sent to the SIZO.
