Case Description
Residents of Temryuk, 33-year-old Ruslan Orlovsky, were detained in the city of Belorechensk, Krasnodar Krai, on November 29, 2024. According to the police, the man was in a public place "in a state of intoxication that offends human dignity and public morality." "Allegedly, the man refused to go to the narcological dispensary to establish the fact of alcohol intoxication, for which a protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up against him under the article on disobedience to a lawful order of a police officer. On the same day, the judge of the Belorechensky district court of the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Kiriyenko sent Orlovsky under administrative arrest for 14 days. Later, a criminal case was initiated against Orlovsky on charges of preparing to participate in the activities of a terrorist organization and committing treason in the form of switching to the side of the enemy. According to law enforcement, the Krasnodar resident tried to leave for Ukraine to participate in hostilities against Russia on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The court sent the man to a pre-trial detention center. On April 22, 2024, the Southern Military District Court found Ruslan Orlovsky guilty and sentenced him to six years in a strict regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
