Case Description
In February 2022, a 61-year-old entrepreneur Rovshan Namazov was detained in Yaroslavl. He was accused of attempted state treason and preparation for smuggling by an organized group. It is not known exactly what formed the basis of the accusation. On the Avito service, Rovshan Namazov sold engines for military equipment from about January 2021. On February 16, 2022, the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow sent Namazov into custody." "On January 12, 2024, the Yaroslavl Regional Court found Rovshan Namazov guilty and sentenced him to 12 years and 6 months of imprisonment to be served in a strict regime colony, followed by a restriction of freedom for 1 year and 6 months. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
