Case Description
In Volgograd in early December 2024, a 31-year-old local resident, Bulgarian citizen Rositsa Georgieva, was detained. A protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up against her under the article on disobedience to a lawful order of a law enforcement officer. According to police reports, Georgieva "in a rude manner refused to provide documents identifying her, and also attempted to hide, refusing to submit to compulsory delivery to the service premises of the territorial police department." The next day, on December 9, the judge of the Central District Court of Volgograd, Elina Virabova, sentenced Georgieva to 13 days of administrative arrest. After serving her sentence, a criminal case was opened against Georgieva on charges of calling for terrorism. According to the investigation, on March 3 and 5, as well as on November 25, 2024, the woman, having familiarized herself with a video recording on the Internet highlighting the sabotage and terrorist activities of the banned terrorist organization "Russian Volunteer Corps," photographs with texts justifying the activities of the RDK members, posted text comments under them justifying the terrorist activities carried out by the RDK. What exactly the defendant wrote is unknown. The woman was placed in a pre-trial detention center for the duration of the investigation. On September 9, 2025, the Southern District Military Court found Rositsa Georgieva guilty and sentenced her to 3 years of general regime.
