Case Description
A criminal case was opened in the Belgorod region against a native of the Altai Territory, a serviceman, a junior sergeant Roman Vorobyov. The date of his detention is unknown. He was accused of treason. According to the investigation, in May 2024, Vorobiev, being dissatisfied with the conduct of the SVO, proactively contacted a representative of Ukrainian intelligence. For several months he collected information about the locations of Russian servicemen and equipment, as well as about the routes of movement of units in the Belgorod and Kharkiv regions. He passed this data to the enemy's special services. At the time of the investigation, the serviceman was placed in custody. On January 14, 2026, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Roman Vorobyov guilty and sentenced him to 17 years in a strict regime colony." The court also imposed a fine of 300 thousand on him. rubles and deprived him of his military rank and state award.
