Case Description
In Serpukhov, Moscow region, 43-year-old local resident Roman Sheraton was detained in early April 2022. He was accused of public incitement of hatred and hostility towards a social group using the Internet and threat of violence, as well as illegal acquisition and storage of firearms and ammunition.
According to the investigation, Sheraton twice committed actions aimed at inciting hatred and humiliation of a group of persons on the grounds of social affiliation (law enforcement officers) using the Internet. According to the prosecution, these publications were accompanied by threats of violence. The man was also charged with illegal trafficking in weapons. It is alleged that during a search of his home they found shotguns, smoke bombs, swords, shurikens and hunting knives.
On April 4, 2022, the defendant in the case was remanded in custody.
On May 10, 2023, the Serpukhov City Court of Moscow Region found Roman Sheraton guilty, the amount of punishment is unknown.
On September 7, 2023, the Moscow Regional Court left the verdict unchanged.
