Case Description
On February 21, 2023, in the village of Pribrezhnoye, Kaliningrad region, a local 32-year-old resident, Roman Beredu, was detained. He was accused of treason, preparing a terrorist attack and making an explosive device. According to law enforcement, Bereza contacted Ukrainian special services, made an explosive device, and wanted to blow up the Kaliningrad prison administration building. He did this allegedly in order to stop the war in Ukraine. Bereda himself claims that he acted in a state of affect. Previously, due to the management of the FSIN, a person who inflicted severe injuries on Bereza was sent to war. He was declared missing, and with him, the enforcement order for the moral damages awarded to Roman became invalid, which he had been counting on very much. For the duration of the investigation, the Kaliningrad resident was placed in custody. On October 2, 2024, the Baltic Fleet Military Court found Roman Beredu guilty and sentenced him to 15 years and 1 month in a strict regime colony and a fine of 500 thousand. rubles. January 28, 2025, the Appellate Military Court changed the verdict, details are unknown.
