Case Description
In November 2023, the Pervouralsk Interdistrict Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug opened a criminal case on "fakes" about the Russian army on the grounds of political hatred against the anti-war activist from Moscow Rodion Silaev. It is unknown what exactly became the reason for the initiation of the case. According to Silaev, some of the reasons for this could have been the domain fuck-putin.ru that he owned or posts about Bucha and Mariupole on VKontakte. In April and November, security forces came to the relatives of Silaev in the city of Gubkinsky in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. According to the activist, they showed screenshots from his VKontakte page to his relatives and also tried to find out where he was." April 2024, Silaev was included in the Rosfinmonitoring list as being involved in a terrorist crime. Another criminal case was opened against Silaev - for publicly justifying terrorism." "According to the investigation, Silaev spread messages containing public calls for terrorist activity, as well as materials containing knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, through social media accounts on the Internet.
