Case Description
In Izhevsk, no later than March 2025, a criminal case was initiated against 48-year-old local resident Rasul Gafiyatullin. He was accused of rehabilitating Nazism, committed publicly using the Internet. According to the investigation, on March 8, 2025, the man under the virtual name "Gafiatullin" posted a comment in the Telegram channel "Faruk's Blog" containing knowingly false information about the activities of the USSR during World War II: . ..SMERSH dressed up as Banderites and shot peaceful Ukrainians to frame the underground." "There is no information about the measure of restraint. January 21, 2026, the Supreme Court of the Udmurt Republic found Rasul Gafiatullin guilty and sentenced him to 2.5 years of compulsory labor. The court also prohibited him from engaging in activities related to website administration and posting materials on the Internet for 2.5 years.
